This Taza twist on the classic backyard burger incorporates a handful of our Roasted Cacao Nibs into the simply seasoned patties, adding a subtle but satisfying texture. The finishing touch is a quick spicy-sweet homemade ketchup seasoned with Taza Guajillo Chocolate Mexicano.
Makes 4 burgers
2 pounds ground beef
4 scallions, finely chopped
2 tablespoons Taza Roasted Cacao Nibs
4 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
4 pretzel buns (or any burger bun of your preference), split
1/2 head shredded iceberg lettuce
Taza Guajillo Chocolate Mexicano Ketchup
1. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, scallions, Taza Roasted Cacao Nibs, and Worcestershire sauce and mix until evenly incorporated. Let sit in the fridge for 15 minutes, then shape into 4 evenly sized burger patties.
2. Preheat the grill to high heat, then sear the burgers until they reach desired doneness. Let the burgers rest while you toast the buns on the grill.
3. Place shredded iceberg lettuce on the bottom half of each bun, followed by the burger. Top with Guajillo Chocolate Mexicano Ketchup and the other half of the bun and serve immediately.
