Peanut Butter Chocolate Parfaits

These playful parfaits let you take a decadent dessert “to go”. They can be a special treat tucked into your packed work lunch, but also feel indulgent enough to bring on a luxurious picnic. Using jars gives you the freedom to assemble your parfait, then screw on the lid and take it with you anywhere. These parfaits can be assembled a day (or even two) in advance.

Yields 4 servings

Ingredients:

For Chocolate Layer:

2 Taza 70% Deliciously Dark Amaze Bars, chopped
1/2 cup cream

For Peanut Butter Layer:

1/2 cup peanut butter
2 oz cream cheese
1/4 cup sugar
2 tablespoons milk
pinch of salt

For Garnish:

4 six ounce jars
2 cup crushed oatmeal cookies
Taza Chocolate Covered Nuts, for garnish

To Prepare:

Chocolate Layer:

1. Combine chocolate and cream in a small saucepan and place over low heat, stirring often until melted. Keep warm until ready to use.

Peanut Butter Layer:

1. In a bowl mix together peanut butter, cream cheese, sugar, milk, and pinch of salt until smooth.

To assemble:

1. Divide half the crushed cookies between the jars, top with half the peanut butter mixture, and half the chocolate. Repeat with remaining ingredients and top with Taza Chocolate Covered Nuts.
