I saw your new Peanut Butter Truffles, does that mean you now process peanuts in your manufacturing facility?
We have partnered with a co-packer (third party manufacturer) to make this product. The chocolate for the truffles is made at the Taza Chocolate Factory and sent to the co-packer. The peanut butter is from local producer Teddie Peanut Butter in Everett, MA., and also goes directly to the co-packer without passing through our facility, so our factory remains free of peanuts. The Peanut Butter Truffles are manufactured in facility that also processes coconut, eggs, milk, soy and tree nuts.
Please note however that all Taza Chocolate contains at least traces of coconut, almonds, hazelnuts and pecans.
Why are you working with a co-packer to create the truffles? Why don't you make them in Somerville?
At our factory in Somerville, we're focused on making a simple style of stone ground chocolate from bean-to-bar. Working with a co-packer allows us to experiment with new products and form factors that we don't currently have the capability to make at our factory due to equipment and/or space constraints. All Taza Chocolate products, regardless of where they made, adhere to Taza's exceptionally high quality standards. We hope you'll give the truffles a try and let us know what you think!
Will my order melt if it's hot out?
Yes, it could melt, but we certainly don't want it to! When the weather gets warm we will pack your order with an ice pack and insulation. We recommend that you choose a shipping address where your package will be received immediately, so it will not be sitting outside in the warm weather. When it's simply too hot, we will hold your package until the weather cools off to a safe shipping temperature.
How do you calculate your shipping costs?
Our shipping costs are based on the weight of your package and the distance it will travel. For expedited shipping, rates will increase.
Do you ship internationally?
No. At this time, we are only able to ship to addresses in the United States. If you are an international distributor, please contact email@example.com.
