Finca Elvesia
Dominican Republic
Finca Elvesia, a 200 hectare organic cacao farm in the Dominican Republic, was heavily impacted by Hurricane Fiona which struck the Eastern part of the island hard in September 2022. The damage from this storm meant we were unable to source any cacao from Finca Elvesia in 2023.
The trees have been recovering since and have slowly begun to produce again this Fall. The Winter crop is expected to be small, but assuming weather is decent in the Spring, they are expecting a substantial bumper crop by April 2024. We are looking forward to being able to once again sourc their excellent cacao in the new year.
