At Taza, we strive to be industry leaders in transparency. We believe that anyone who eats our chocolate deserves to know the story behind it.
Each year we publish a groundbreaking Annual Cacao Sourcing Transparency Report, sharing the prices we pay to our partners for cacao through our Direct Trade Certified Cacao sourcing program -- always at least $500 per metric ton above the world market price.
This year, we have gone even further. Taza Cocoa Sourcing Manager Jesse Last asked a challenging new question: How much of the money we pay our partners makes its way to individual farmers? Our report documents his journey to understanding what the price Taza pays really means -- and what it doesn't -- to the men and women who grow our beans. In his words:
"In pioneering a radical level of transparency down to the farm level, we hope to spark a larger conversation between farmers, processors, chocolate makers and consumers around the creation of a chocolate industry that is seriously good and fair for all."
We hope you'll join this conversation!
